Zachary and Sarah had their piano recital last night. They have been practicing for a few months and were well prepared and did a beautiful job. Sarah was the first and although she was nervous she was flawless. She performed the Trumpet Song by Jeremiah Clarke. Zachary has fought for months over taking piano lessons but still shone and did an excellent job playing Horseman's Night Ride by Nancy Faber. We were so proud watching them. Grandpa Wilstead was able to come up for the recital which was a special treat for us and we enjoyed his visit.

Music and Kids

Princess Izzybee playing the Dulcimer

Today Princess Izzybee started Kindermusik. She has been so excited to begin the music class especially since her brother started piano lessons this week. Princess Izzybee wants to take piano lessons but isn't old enough yet so hopefully next year and Kindermusik is supposed to give her a wonderful base to begin piano.

The class last an hour and I come in for the last 10 minutes of the class to learn what they have learned so I can practice with Princess Izzybee. I have no musical talent so this will be interesting for me. They learned the staff and notes and how to count notes, they sang along with Miss Anne playing the Dulcimer and also they played the Glockenspiel. We are supposed to practice for 10 minutes a day at first and then eventually the practice time increases.

Of course we came right home and Princess Izzybee had to show her brother and sister her instruments, she practiced and strummed her dulcimer along with CD while the Doodle danced around the living room. They had so much fun. I even got a little Fischer price instrument out for the Doodle to mess around with and then I snapped some pictures.
