1st Day In The Pool

We opened the pool later this year since we've had so much rain. Today started out rainy and it stayed cooler but the kids still wanted to swim. So after helping pull some weeds the swam with a few friends. Randy and I watched them and wore a sweatshirt but since the water was so warm the kids lasted for 2 hours in the pool.

Highlights for this week

Another busy week and another week closer to summer break for the kids. Yay!

  • We saw Steel Magnolias at Roger's Memorial Theater and I had a lot of good laughs and cried. I had only seen the movie (a million times) and was glad to finally see the play.
  • Princess Izzybee had her final gymnastics class for the season and she needs to decide if she wants to start the next level in the fall, sign up for dance or do soccer.
  • Princess Izzybe also had her final softball game unless we have a few make-up games. Tuesday night she did so good, she hit twice, and even scored a run for her team.
  • ZMan had a baseball game and has several more before the end of the season.
  • ZMan also had pack meeting a received two pins.
  • The Doodle has been doing so much better with her potty training. It seems like she has mastered pooping in the potty so we are almost potty trained.
  • The Doodle keeps telling us her name is Auie Princess Superman Curtis Happy unless she is mad and you can change the to Happy to Mad.
  • Baby Ru is so sweet and fun. She laughs and talks to us and I just can't get enough of her babyliousness.
  • Randy has been working on ZMan's room along with the basement hallway so it's a major project.
  • We are going to plant a small vegetable garden this year and have bought little starter plants. The garden area needs to be weeded this weekend so we can get everything in the ground.
  • 4 more days of school!!!!

Our Baseball Player

Posted by Picasa

ZMan is playing baseball and loving it. He can't decide if he likes baseball or soccer more so he past few years in the spring we run all over juggling both sports. He's been crazy but he is having a good time. In the pictures ZMan had a great hit and made it to second base. I love watching him play.

Zoo Day Field Trip

Posted by Picasa
Princess Izzybee's class went to the zoo on Monday and I came along with the Doodle. I think this may have been the Doodle's first zoo visit so she was very excited. It was a short visit and we missed the reptile house (which is fine by me) but it was fun. The weather was perfect, even a little hot and the kids had a good time. The Doodle bought a purple monkey that she named Purple George , that wraps around her and she is wearing it everywhere.

Our Soccer Player

Saturday was our final soccer game for the season and Mom and Tiffi were here to come watch ZMan play. ZMan's favorite position is goalkeeper and he is pretty good at it. He's not afraid to dive and jump for the ball and he's been trampled and kicked as well. This year he had an excellent coach and we had a great season.

Go BYU!

Posted by Picasa
ZMan loves BYU. Honestly, I'm not sure where his fondness for BYU came from since neither Randy or I have ever shown any support to any college. His favorite sweatshirt is his BYU sweatshirt and I have to sneak it from his room in order to wash it, he seems to think it's okay to wear it every day. This past week when the Doodle was messing around with this blue and white pom pom, ZMan taught her a cheer, "Go BYU!"

Tonight was Princess Izzybee's Kindermusik Celebration. We invited all the family she has been practicing for many weeks. She was so excited to have so many family members come support her. Princess Izzybee played her recorder (Hot Cross Buns) she played her dulcimer (Sleepy Time) and she play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the glockenspiel. She played beautifully and was so happy and confident. Her teacher, Mrs. Anne planed a fabulous program and we were all involved and the kids were able to show off what they have learned this past year. Her cousins were able to participate in some of the actives and it was a fun evening. We are so proud of Princess Izzybee!

Father and Son Campout

Posted by Picasa

Randy took ZMan and his sister's two boys to our Stake Father and Son Campout last Friday. He pulled the trailer up to ZCamp and took the boys bicycles and I packed them warm clothes because the weather was cold and rainy. ZMan needed to pass off things off for his Arrow of Light for Webelos so he had to help Jeffrey put the tent up and sleep in it and they had to help make the fire and cook over the fire. I was worried the boys would be cold in the tent but ZMan said he slept warm but he was layered heavily. The remainder of the crew slept in the warm trailer. I'm sure Randy wishes they could have stayed camping longer than overnight.

Weekly Update

Yay it's Friday! I'm so happy it's the weekend and we get a bit of a break. It's been a busy week and I we don't have any kid's soccer, baseball or softball games scheduled.

Randy left about 2 hours ago with ZMan and his two cousins for the Father and Son's Camp Out so it's just the girls and I tonight. The Doodle was so upset that her dad was going camping without her and cried for another 20 minutes after they left. A few weeks ago we were going to go camping as a family and it didn't work out due to bad weather but based on the Doodle's reaction tonight we better plan so more camping trips soon. I hope the guys have a fun time. ZMan has to pass off some Weblos things so he is supposed to help put the tent up and sleep in it and it's going to be a cold night. Randy will be nice and warm in the trailer so hopefully ZMan will be warm enough in his sleeping bag.

When they get home from the camp out they are going to a Real Salt Lake soccer game with ZMan's soccer team. This season instead of providing soccer treats after the games the boys were supposed to save their money and go together to a Real Salt Lake soccer game. ZMan is pretty excited for this since he's never been to a professional soccer game.

This past few weeks I have sat in the wet, cold and windy weather to watch my kids play soccer, baseball and softball. Most of the time Randy stayed home with the two little girls so at least I wasn't out there with the baby. I'm looking forward to some better weather for the remainder of the games, although ZMan only has one soccer game left. We still have quite a few softball and baseball games though so sun would be nice.

Princess Izzybee has progressed to the next level in gymnastics. I've told her she will need to pick between soccer and softball or gymnastics and each day she changes her mind. It's been challenging juggling so many activities this season which is why I would like her to pick but if she likes them all.... She has her end of year performance for Kindermusik next Friday and she preforms with her class and individually. We've invited the family to come see her so I know she will feel special that day.

One more month of school and we are done for a few months, I can't wait for the kids to be home and not have to worry about homework. We are enjoying the spring weather even though some days are not so "spring-like", it will be hot soon enough. Hopefully we'll open the pool by the end of the month and have some "wet" fun.

Mother's Day Murder ( A Lucy Stone Mystery, #15)

By Leslie Meier
Published in 2009, 256 pages

Description:
Spring in Tinker's Cove, Maine, finds local reporter Lucy Stone wishing she were digging in her garden instead of languishing in her office at the Pennysaver newspaper. But flowerbeds will have to wait when Mother's Day rings in a feud between two neighborhood moms-and the fallout is fatal...
Two of her four kids may be out of the nest, but Lucy knows only too well that mothering is a lifetime commitment. At least she gets to kick back and enjoy a fancy Mother's Day brunch with her brood-that is, before the festivities are interrupted by a nasty scene courtesy of Barbara Hume and Tina Nowak. Opposites in every way, the only thing these mean moms have in common is the need to best each other at every turn, using their teenage daughters as pawns in elaborate games of one-upsmanship...
The hostilities only escalate when Bar and Tina team up to host an after-prom party for local teens. Lucy-persuaded to participate so she can keep an eye on her own daughter, Sara-has a front row seat for the fireworks. But even after witnessing the women's claw sharpening rituals, she never expects to see actual blood spilled-until Tina is shot dead on the public tennis court, right in front of Lucy.
Having witnessed Tina's death, Lucy naturally expects to cover it for the Pennysaver, but when her boss snatches the story, she's relegated to backing him up instead of taking the lead. It's an exercise in frustration, especially since Lucy can shake neither the image of Tina's last moments nor the suspicion that the evidence against prime suspect Bar isn't as cut and dried as it seems...

I read this book in a few days and liked it. I generally like to read a series in order but I chose to go out of order to read a Mother's Day book. I like that Leslie Meier has a book for almost every holiday.

I like Lucy Stone as the main character. The thing I like most about her is that I can relate to her as a mother. She worries about her kids, she tries to balance home and work, she doesn't know what to make for dinner and of course there is always a murder for her to solve in her free time.

Spring Family Pictures

Yay, I finally ordered our family pictures. In March, Melissa from Melissa Sue Photography took our family pictures and she did a great job. Don't we have adorable kids?
