Sunny Saturday

Yesterday was the last day of school for the kids. They were so excited and I am ready for a break from school. Lately it has been harder to wake them up for school each morning due to the fact that they go to bed to late. After school I invited a friend and her kids to come swimming and then Grandma C and 2 our the cousins came over so they all swimmed through the evening. The kids had a fun day.

S actually feel asleep about 7:30pm even though the others were still swimming. She had been complaining of a tummy ache. About 8:00pm she screamed for me and had thrown up all over. The poor thing she was so sick until about midnight she kept throwing up and she felt awful. I think it must have been food poisoning or something because when she woke up this morning she felt weak but wasn't throwing up anymore. By early afternoon she was outside playing with her cousins and seemed her old self.

Grandma C and Holly's younger 2 boys are staying at the house through the weekend so Z is in heaven to play with his boy cousins. Even though the boys live in Ogden we just don't see them very often and I should set up more activities for all the kids. Tiffany called mid-morning and asked what we were doing since they were headed down for some car shopping. I told them to cover over for dinner and swimming so they came over mid-afternoon. The kids were in the pool all afternoon and evening. They all had so much fun swimming with cousins and squirting each other with the super soaker we bought this past week. My BIL and his daughter that we don't see very ofter also stopped by to visit. It was a great day for visiting and eating, it was just a nice relaxing Saturday.

I'm so happy summer is here.

Friday

It's been a crazy week with family activities every night. We've had two baseball games, a spring gymnastics show and pack meeting so my kids have gone to bed late every night this week. Also R opened the pool last weekend so the kids have swimmed almost every evening. Right now S is swimming with two friends and it's chilly out there, about to rain.

I'm not sure what we are doing for the Memorial Weekend. Work is slower until Monday night but we are short staffed so we've debated back and forth about going out of town. We were invited to the dunes with some neighbors to go 4-wheeling and my sister in Colorado invited us to a surprise birthday party for her husband. It looks like we ruled out Colorado, but we may still go to the dunes, we just haven't decided for sure and it's Friday afternoon so we better decide soon.

My house is a disaster and I have a mile long list for work, there is always so much to do. I have found a part time babysitter for the two girls. She will tend the girls two days a week for 4-6 hours. One of her daughters is in S's school class so she picks the girls up from school and keeps S and A until I get home. It's been nice to have a few hours at work without A, I get so much more done. The first day last week I cried a little and felt guilty that I didn't have her with me but I also think she enjoys playing with the boys at the sitter's house more than running around the office.

I'm hoping if we don't go out of town this weekend to catch up around my house and also enjoy some quite reading time. The National Treasure movie came out of DVD this week and I purchased it and hope to watch it , I have been dying to see it, I really enjoyed the 1st National Treasure movie.

Spring Show

Last night was S's Spring Show at Flips. She had fun going to the different stations to show us what she has learned. Z and A also had fun playing on the bars and mats.

Finished

Friday R finished the tramp hole. He put the tramp together and when both kids were home from school they took their first jump together. Even our dog Binks joined in on the fun. The kids are really enjoying the tramp. I can't believe how much work it has been for R and he still needs to finish the top of the tramp and plant grass.

Wednesday Will Do's

Lots to do today so I'm hoping I can stay on track and get it all done.

I called our insurance yesterday about covering a speech evaluation for A but they will only cover it if there was a medical reason for it (like an accident or major illness). R remembered this from Z many years ago so paid out of pocket for the evaluation and it was about $500.00. I did call Early Intervention to see what they can do and they are sending me a packet to complete and then they will contact me.

One of S's little friends has a mom who is starting to do part time daycare in her home and we have talked a little and she knows that S has gone to daycare for a few hours one day a week. Today we are going to try leaving A with her for a few hours and if it works out for her and A then I will use her one or two days a week for a few hours. A has never had a daycare so I'm not sure how she will like it and she is so attached to me that I know she'll freak out a little. I'm hoping that with S there and the other mom's kids that she will have fun. For S this will be just like a play date so she will be fine.

Mom flys in tonight so I'll pick her up at the airport and take her Z's baseball game. He is excited for Grandma to see him play. I'm excited to visit with my mom and sisters this weekend and spend time with everyone. I still need to finish cleaning out the spare room and make the bed before we got to S's kindergarten testing this morning.

18 Month Checkup

A had her 18 month checkup today. She is healthy and hates doctor visits. The poor doctor, A just screamed the entire time she was examining her.

Weight: 23 lb 6 oz (35%)
Length: 47.9cm (83%)

The doctor was concerned because A has lost weight over the last 4 months instead of gained. We had some blood taken today so they will check it out to make sure her iron is okay and that everything else is fine. Also I have been concerned about A's lack of talking so the doctor suggested a speech evaluation. I'm going to call the insurance to see if they will cover the evaluation because they didn't cover any of the speec stuff with Z.

Edited to add:
The nurse called and A's blood work came back normal. She just asked that I bring A by in about a month for a weight check.

Monday Madness

I had a good Mother's Day yesterday. The kids and their dad brought me breakfast in bed which of course was a treat. The baby shared my breakfast with me. R gave me a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure which I had asked him for and the kids game me some great books.

I stayed up tonight to scrub my kitchen and living room floor. It as a been longer than I care to admit since they have had a good scrub and I wanted it out of the way for tomorrow. I still have cleaning and organizing to do before my family arrives. I have spent the last two and a half days sorting through all the kids clothes to bring out the summer clothes and put away winter things. It is such a pain to do this and I have piles everywhere which of course the baby loves to get into.

Work has been crazy with our reservation system down and for alot of tonight our Nextel phone/radio system was down. R has to go into to work in a few hours to help finish dealing with the problem.

My mom will be here Wednesday night and hopefully my other two sisters will be here Friday. Z has a baseball game Wednesday night so right after I pick Mom up at the aiport I will take her to his game. He's excited to have Grandma see him play baseball.

Muffins For Mom

Z's grade had a Mother's Day Program for all their moms this morning. It was called "Muffins for Mom" and after the program they served us a plate of muffins and fruit. It was such a cute program with songs and then each student told why he/she love their mom. Z said he loved me because I make the best brownies. Z also made me a special card. Of course I was a little teary eyed because this mom stuff always makes me get emotional.

Finally Friday

I'm so glad it's Friday! I just finished my morning exercising and I am catching up on some work projects before the kids wake up. I'm actually not going into work today because Z has a school Mother's Day Program that I'm going to. I even asked my visting teacher to keep A for an hour so I could enjoy the program.

We don't have any big plans for the weekend. Z has baseball practice and I need to prepare my YW's lesson for Sunday. I have goals of tackeling my house and cleaning and organizing the basement. Next weekend my sister is blessing her little one so family is coming in throughout the week starting with my mom on Wednesday so I need my house to be in order. I don't know how many family members will need or want to stay here so I just need the rooms ready for those who need a place to crash and right now my basement is in chaos.

A hasn't had her binkie now for almost 2 weeks and I haven't noticed that she's talking more. Right now she is looking for her sister and walking through the house calling her by saying, "AH". I'm trying not to worry about her not talking I just wish I new for sure what to do (other than wait).

The work on the tramp is coming along. R works on it every spare minute. He has the hole halfway lined with block. I'm sure he's hoping to finish it this week. I also hope he can get the pool open this week.

Baseball

Z had a baseball game tonight. He is really loving baseball and he did so good. I had fun watching him. Baseball has never been a sport I enjoy very much and my sister kept telling me when my kids play that I would enjoy it more. She was right.

Last Day of Soccer for Z

Tonight was Z's last soccer game (unless the coach is able to schedule a make up game). Of course it was a rainy day, but it wasn't so bad during the game. I am really impressed with the improvement I have seen in Z this season. It's already time to sign up for next season.

Last Day of Soccer

Tonight was S's last soccer game. Most of the time S enjoyed trying to do cartwheels on the field and just following the ball from a distance. Sometimes she would get right in the middle and kick the ball around. I asked her if she wanted to play next year and she said "no". I am signing her up for T Ball this summer so we'll see how much she likes playing it in the heat.

Pictures of the baby

A is 18 months this week, I can't believe she is getting so big. She is such a joy in our lives. I have nicknamed her "the tornado" because she gets into everything and makes huge messes.

10 Reasons I Blog

I was tagged over at Garibay Soup for a meme. It's "10 Reasons Why I Blog" although I don't know if I have 10 reasons so I'll at least get it started.
  • We actually have a family website on myfamily.com and I felt like I was the only one sharing so I started blogging so I could share whatever I wanted and not feel like I was the only one sharing.
  • I post some children and family milestones so I use it as sort of a journal.
  • I enjoy reading what other blogging friends have to share and have enjoyed my little blogging network.

I'll have to post more and I think of more reasons.

Our New Tramp

We have talked for a long time about getting a tramp for the kids. R decided to get a rectangle tramp and dig it into the ground. He started the digging part about 2 weeks ago (for any of you who don't know, R loves to dig). R and Z have been working really hard at the digging and they are almost done. R bought the block yesterday and this will line the hole.
