Wednesday Wonderings

I had a long weekend. I didn't go into work over the weekend then I took Monday off and had yesterday off. Today at work I have a ton to catch up on.

Monday we took the kids to Lagoon and had a fun day. It was warm but there was cloud cover so it wasn't to bad. The kids had tons of fun havind their dad with them on the rides.

Zachary had school yesterday and his last day is Friday. Sarah's last day of preschool is today. They have been counting down the days to the end of school. Grandma Curtis is wanting to take them to St. George with her on Saturday for a week. It will be weird to have them gone for a whole week, I'm not sure I will like it.

Things to do today:
2 Loads of Laundry
Dinner (not sure what)
Clean extra room

Sunday

We made it through another day of church with the kids today. We were actually a little early which is no small feat. Zachary had to give a talk and since Primary is first we had to be on time.
Yesterday we helped Tiffany and Allen unload their moving truck in Logan. They have not found a place to live so they are staying in Dad's trailer and renting a storage unit for all their stuff. They are hoping to find a house in the next month. Tiffany starts her new nursing job on Tuesday. Exciting for her!!!
Dad and Denise helped Tiffany and Allen and instead of driving home last night they came and stayed at our place. They didn't have church clothes with them so they stayed home but after church the kids had tons of fun spending the afternoon with Grandpa and Grandma. I'm so glad they stayed.
Tomorrow is Memorial Day and we don't have anything special planned. Generally the pool is open and we have a BBQ and pool party but the pool is not open. We have been filling the pool with water for the last few days and then Randy will need to heat it and clean it. We also need to cover guys to finish up the cover.

Monday Musings

I have been a blog slacker this past week. I just let myself get busy and not spend as much time on the computer.

Randy and the kids gave me a new iPod for Mother's Day and I love, love, love it! I holds 20,000 songs so I can download so much stuff. I have 3 or 4 books saved on it and I listen to it all the time. Zachary picked out a pink skin which is really cute.

Saturday was Zachary's last soccer game and I forgot to take my camera and the video camera. Bummer because I'm not sure I took enough pictures of his soccer this year. He scored three goals so he was very happy with himself. Baseball will be starting the second week in June so he is looking forward to his baseball games. I am dreading the heat the games will be playing in.

Sarah finishes gymnastics the second week in June with a performance. I'm not sure if I will sign her up for summer classes or not.

Audrey has two teeth. I can't beleive how fast my baby is growing and she is truly such a joy for me. She tried to give me kisses in church yesterday. Her sweet smile brightens the room.

Today after work the kids have swim lessons. I will take them swimming about an hour before their lessons so they can have fun. It sounds like Grandma Curtis is coming to stay the night at our house tonight before going to Logan for the week.

My goals at home are:
Fold a batch of laundry from yesterday
Wash and fold another load
Empty dishwasher
Change all the sheets on all the beds

Friday

Randy went into work this morning so I am working a little from home and spending the day with the kids. This morning is play group at the park so I will take Sarah and hopefully Audrey will take her nap in the stroller. I need to run a few errands and attack my house.

My goals today are:
  • At least 3 loads of laundry
  • Clean of my island in the kitchen (I use it as a catch-all)
  • Sweep and mop my kitchen and living room

Today is Zach's early out day and Randy wants to take the two older kids shopping this afternoon. I hope he can get away from work. This evening is the Freedom Run Fundraiser at the school so I think I will take the kids and sign us up for the 1 mile run/walk. They will have fun doing this and I can push Audrey in the jogging stroller.

Since Mother's Day in Sunday I want to prepare my Sunday meal today or tomorrow. This will keep my work load low on Sunday so I can enjoy the day more.

Thursday Things

I was supposed to go into work this morning but they needed Randy more than me. I am hoping he will be done soon so I can go in for a few hours without the kids otherwise I will take the girls in with me for a little bit.
This afternoon, after school Sarah has gymnastics. When gymnastics is over we need to rush to Zachary's soccer game. I am helping take dinner to someone in our ward so I need to drop it off before heading to gymnastics. After next week we are done with soccer and then I think baseball starts up. I need to get Zachary registered for soccer next year and I am trying to decide if I should register Sarah. It just gets so busy and crazy.
I guess Randy's mom is coming up for a visit this weekend. I assume she will stay here but I never know for sure where she will stay. I have slacked on my house all week but I had better get busy and get it cleaned before she comes.

Macaroni

Last night about 9:30pm when I was getting Sarah and Audrey to bed Sarah commented that she had a macaroni noodle in her nose. She had been eating dried macaroni throughout the day which for some reason she loves. When Sarah annouced that she had macaroni in her nose I didn't beleive her but Randy looked in her nose with a flashlight and sure enough it was there. Randy grabbed the tweezers but Sarah refused to let him try. He ran to instacare but they closed at 9:00pm. I wasn't sure if it was emergency room worthy so I called and they said they wouldn't give medical advice and if we wanted advice we would have to call our pediatrian. I felt it was to stupid to call Dr. Blackburn so I called Tiffany instead (afterall she did just graduate from nursing school). Tiff asked if Sarah could blow the macaroni out of her nose. Tiff said the ER would probablly just have her try to blow it out or hold her down to pull it out. Since Randy was already almost to the ER he went anyway. It turns out the macaroni softened and her nose started running and she was finally able to blow it out before she ever say a doctor. At least this saved us on the ER copay. They got home about midnight and Sarah was still asleep at 9:00am when I left the house this morning.

Another Van

Zachary refused to get in the pool today at his swimming lesson. We signed him up for level 3 which was too advanced for him. His first day in that class freaked him out since the level of difficulity was too much for Zach. After the class I moved him down to level 2 but he has refused to go to the classes. It has been so frustrating for me because I don't know how to handle it. I don't think I should force him to go but I don't want to molly-coddle him either, he needs to learn to swim. Today I tried to be positive about his class and it seemed like he was going to get in the water until we approached the pool and then he changed his mind. Sarah is in Level 1 and her class is at the same time as his so I talked to the scheduler and moved Zachary down to Level 1. He said if he was taking a class with Sarah he would go so I am hoping that by moving him down to the easiest level he will gain his confidence again.

Saturday night Randy bought another van on ebay. He bid for an Astro Van not thinking he would win the bid but he did. Ugg! He said he already has a buyer for it so I hope he can dump it soon because I don't want to drive an Astro Van. Randy was debating a trip to California to pick it up but he called his mom and she happened to be in the general area of the van so her and her boyfriend Harrold will bring the van back later this week. It seems like it's working out. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Family Weekend

Monday night Sarah went home with Tiffany and Allen to spend the week. She was so excited and we had a quieter house. She loved playing with Sam and Danni and she just loved Tiffi and Allen. Sarah did not want to come with us.

Thursday night Mom flew up and arrived in Boutiful just in time to see about half of Zachary's soccer game. That was fun for Zachary.

Friday morning our family along with Mom drove down to Price to see Tiffany's pinning ceromny. WooHoo she is now a RN!! Congratulations Tiffany. After the cermony we rushed to her house for a quick dinner of pizza and then went to Sam and Danni's dance recital. They were so cute in their costumes and the did a great job on their dances.

Sammi's baptism was bright and early Saturday morning at 8:00am. Believe it or not we were all early. It was so special to see Allen baptize Sammi (3 times) and to see Randy confirm her. Tiffany made Sammi's baptism dress and it was beautiful. Sammi looked so pretty in her new dress. After the baptism Allen and Tiffany had their graduation cermony. Our family went to watch Ashton's State Gymnastics meet during the graduation and then went back for a luncheon with the family. Yummy taco salad and way to much food. We all drove back to Huntington to watch the rest of Ashton's meet and see her win her award. She did a great job.

Our entire family then went to Price for dinner and had mexican food. It was great to spend time together. I wish Katie and her family could have been there. We finally left about 9:30pm for our drive home. I bet Tiffany and Allen were happy to have their house quiet again and relax after a busy week and weekend.

I was glad to get home last night even though it was 11:00pm. I was anxious to go to our ward and get our house a little settled before the week started. Mom did a bunch of my laundry this afternoon before going home. Randy just took Mom to the airport to go home. I wish Mom lived closer to we could see her more often.

Tuesday Things

Sunday, late afternoon we returned from St. George. We drove down Friday afternoon to for Harrold's Saturday baptism. Rick and Mandee joined us for our trip and we had some good laughs. I had fun all weekend teasing Randy and Rick about their new stepdad and stepsisters.

Tiffany and Allen sept Sunday at Lagoon and came to our house just as we returned from down south. Sammi had a doctor's appointment at Primary's on Monday so they stayed over at our house and the kids had a ton of fun playing. They also picked up their new van and took it home with them.

Sarah called me yesterday and asked if she could go home with Sam and Danni for the week and we could pick her up on Friday when we go down for Sam's baptism and Tiff and Allen's graduation. She will miss her lessons for this week (swim, ice skating, gymnastics and preschool) but Randy thought she should go anyway. I packed her bags and she let with them last night. Our house is so quiet without her around and I already miss her.
