So tired....

The Doodle has learned how to play games on the computer. It is her favorite thing to do and is constantly telling us it is "her turn". The family has to fight her get a turn on the computer. On Saturday while Randy had the kids at a movie the Doodle was playing a game and fell asleep. She's so cute.

Our Family Flag

From what I understand ZMan will have a family project every month. The idea behind the assignment is for families to create something together and spend time together. The project is completed at home and displayed on his classroom bulletin board in the hall.

The September project was a family flag. On the fabric the teacher sent home we were to design a flag that represents our family. It was due today. I always stress about these projects more than I'm sure the teacher intends. Randy had the idea of using pictures and because we didn't start the project right away I didn't think we would be able to do this because I thought we would have to special order the pictures. The other day I went to the fabric store and found Iron-on stuff that I could print pictures from the computer on and then iron-on the pictures to the fabric. Now the kids want pictures ironed onto all their stuff like their pillowcases and some t-shirts.

Music and Kids

Princess Izzybee playing the Dulcimer

Today Princess Izzybee started Kindermusik. She has been so excited to begin the music class especially since her brother started piano lessons this week. Princess Izzybee wants to take piano lessons but isn't old enough yet so hopefully next year and Kindermusik is supposed to give her a wonderful base to begin piano.

The class last an hour and I come in for the last 10 minutes of the class to learn what they have learned so I can practice with Princess Izzybee. I have no musical talent so this will be interesting for me. They learned the staff and notes and how to count notes, they sang along with Miss Anne playing the Dulcimer and also they played the Glockenspiel. We are supposed to practice for 10 minutes a day at first and then eventually the practice time increases.

Of course we came right home and Princess Izzybee had to show her brother and sister her instruments, she practiced and strummed her dulcimer along with CD while the Doodle danced around the living room. They had so much fun. I even got a little Fischer price instrument out for the Doodle to mess around with and then I snapped some pictures.

Finally Friday

We've been adjusting these last few weeks to school. It's been a challenge to get to bed on time and then to get us all up on time. Homework every afternoon and the projects are starting. The kids are liking school, even though they don't like waking up for school.

ZMan has been doing soccer since the first week of school. He will start piano lessons on Monday and is very excited. His lessons will be Monday at 8:00am before school and I'm hoping he will practice everyday before school. School doesn't let out until 3:25pm and by the time homework is completed if we add afternoon piano practice he will not have any play time.

Princess Izzybee starts Kindermusik this next week and I am in the process of registering her at a new gymnastics place. Last year she did dance and a tumbling class and this year she just wants to do gymnastics. Today there is a grandparent's program at her school and since our grandparents don't live near by we invited Grandma Foster from across the street and she so kindly said she would let Princess Izzybee adopt her for today. Isn't that nice of her?

I have a doctor's appointment this morning. I'm hoping the doctor will be able to find a reason for me to have another ultrasound so we can see for sure if this little peanut is a girl or boy. This pregnancy is going by fast and I still have so much to do before this baby comes. The last few days I've had a cold and there's not much I can take for it so I'm just trying to weather it with grace (which I'm not very good at).

Tomorrow my Snow College roommates and their families are coming over for a BBQ and swim party. I'm excited to get together with them. It's been years since I've seen them (although I did see Amy July 4th) and it will be fun.

Fun Family Weekend

Last Wednesday my sister, her hubby and daughter drove from Steamboat Springs, CO to visit for the weekend. Even though we were able to visit them in July it was fun to have them here spend time together. They are thinking of moving and we all thought her hubby might like the Logan area so they spent a few days in Logan with Tiffi and her family. Randy already has a Uhaul truck lined up for them to move so as soon as they let us all know what dates he will be there to do some heavy lifting.

Friday we pulled the kids from school and spent a family day together. We went to the Kennecott Cooper Mine which was so cool. After so many years in Utah you would think I had been there before but I never had. It was fun and the kids thought it was amazing. On the drive to the mine I could hear them say things, "like I going to mine for jewels and I'm going to find gold." I kept trying to explain to the kids that it wasn't that kind of mine. After we visited the mine we came home and Tiffi met us here for swimming and food.

Saturday we drove up to Logan and the guys went on an ATV ride while us girls and kids visited and relaxed. After our church responsibilities we drove up to Logan on Sunday as well to visit. Randy was called to the Elder's Quorum presidency in our ward and then Randy was able to ordain Allen to the Melchizedek Priesthood in the evening. It was an awesome weekend and I'm happy we spent it with my wonderful family.
