Wednesday Wonderings

I haven't been on the computer much this past week. Our computer crashed the other day so I'm using my new laptop. R gave me this as a Christmas present but honestly I have only used it once, he uses it a lot more than I do. I just like my regular computer better and my life is saved on it.

A and I have been sick for about a week. The past few days the cold has moved into our chests so it has been yuck. Hopefully we will start feeling better so we can go see Tiffi and baby Rocky.

Z had his Blue and Gold Banquet last night. The theme was the Chinese New Year and his den made the decorations. He had a good time helping. The boys all baked and decorated cakes and they auctioned them off. Z had so much fun making and frosting his cake. He actually came home with two cakes last night. Luckily I'm not tempted to eat the cakes since I know 8-10 year old boys made them and most likely licked their fingers many times.

Work has been extra stressful this past week, sometimes it just sucks.

The Weekend

I should be going to bed since I've been up since 4:00am and I'll regret staying up late tomorrow. Once the kids are in bed I love to stay up because I have time just to myself but I really do need my sleep.

My sister is in labor now, I'm just waiting to hear some news from her. We thought about driving up to Logan but thought they need some time without peopel hovering. We probably won't see Tiffany's baby until Monday. There are supposed to come to a doctor's appointment in Salt Lake for Sammi so Mom or I will watch the new baby. It'll be interesting to see how A reacts to the little baby (they are supposed to name him Rockwell Allen and call him Rocky). I'll probably go up for a visit next week sometime when they've had a chance to settle in a little.

My step-sister, Daryl actually had her baby today. His name is Wylan and he is 8.5 lbs and 21 inches long. It'll be funny if both babies have their birthday on the same day.

Tomorrow a friend and her husband are getting sealed in the Salt Lake Temple so R and I are going. They have a luncheon afterwards (we'll see if I can stay within my points). I'm so excited for them. Craig was able to adopt her first 3 kids and then they've had 2 kids together so they will all be sealed. What a special day for them.

Wednesday

Last night it felt like my allergies were bothering me but I think I am starting to get a cold and I think little A is as well. Of course we share cups, she seems to think that she must drink out of my water bottle and that it's hers. I hate getting sick and I hate having a sick baby. She slept badly last night so as soon as I get the kids off to school I will put her down for a nap (of course I need one also but probably won't get one). I will just work from home today so the baby can be fussy here instead of the office (:

This past week my WW has been going good. I stuck to my points and I've kept track of everything. I refuse to weigh myself until they weigh me at my WW meeting. It's a little discouraging because I want to see change right away and I don't and I don't feel like my clothes fit any different. I just keep reminding myself that if I stick to it they will and hopefully I will start noticing a change.

Monday Madness

The kids were out of school so I should have planned some fun stuff for us to do. I didn't. We had a lazy morning just piddeling around the house for awhile and then they had friends over while I worked on laundry. I made my menu plan for the week and went grocery shopping.

I was able to organize some of my cabinets tonight. I feels good to throw stuff away when I've been hanging on to it forever. I love our remodeling in the kitchen although I don't have a lot of cabinet space so I need to be more selective about what I keep.

Someone loaned me a butch of Weight Watcher books I want to go through so I can find some new reicpes. I made a chicken finger recipe tonight that was pretty good. My kids still prefer McDonald's chicken nuggests but maybe one day I can convice them that my homemade ones are just as good and better for them.

My Mom is coming up from St George on Sunday and will stay the night before going to Logan to help Tiffany with the baby. I always love having Mom here.

Finally Friday

I hope everyone had a good Valentines Day. Ours was busy but good. R and I didn't get to do anything special, he had a long day at work. We'll plan something for another night. The kids and I delivered Valentine cookies to friends and neighbors and I still have sprinkles all over my kitchen.

When I went to Weight Watchers Wednesday night I lost a total of 7 pounds for the last 2 weeks. I was happy about this, although I can't tell. Everyday I keep plugging away and it's so challenging for me.

The kids and I are heading to Patty's for the evening when Z gets home from Cub Scouts. It's been a long time since I've been to Heber City to visit her so I'm excited to sit and chat. Patty always cooks healthy food so I know I won't be tempted with something bad.

Tomorrow we are going to Logan to spend the day with Tiffany. My kids can't wait to see the girls. I talked to Tiffi today and the doctor told her if she hasn't delivered by Friday that he will start her. Exciting to have a tiny baby around.

Well I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

Reading

Tonight S and I were doing homework. She is a young kindergartener and it seems like her sounds have taken her a little longer. S was understanding blending so her reading has been really slow and generally I just read to her. This past month the blending has finally clicked for her and she is starting to read on her own. Everytime she read a word on her own without my help I gave her a high-five and she would get so excited. S had the biggest smile, the happiest laugh and her entire body just vibrated with excitement. It's so fun to watch her learn and catch on especially now because she really enjoys doing homework and sitting down to work on her numbers and letters. I can't wait for her to start reading some of my favorite books from when I was a child.

Feb. 11th

I was able to do my treadmill early this morning. So far so good with my food today. I am at work and didn't plan on being here so long today so I only brought a WW yogurt and not any lunch. I'm just hoping I can make it until my conference call is finished so I can go home and eat something other than junk. I need to bring a few WW freezer meals to keep at the office so I won't be tempted to cheat. One of my coworkers just started back on WW. She lost 90 pounds last year and was 19 pounds from her goal weight when she quit. She encouraged me saying the first few weeks were hard but after that it will get easier. I hope she it right.Patty reccommended Steel Cut Oatmeal for breakfast. I'm generally not much of an oatmeal fan but the girls and I loved this steel cut oatmeal. It was yummy and I've had it for breakfast the last few mornings. Also at my WW meeting Thursday I as told about Sara Lee DeLight Wheat bread. It's only 1 point for 2 slices of bread. YAY a whole sandwich!

Sad Day

Today was a sad day for me. There were rumblings that Mitt Romney would withdraw from the presidential race in his speech to CPAC. I was really hoping he he would not. His speech was amazing and he really delivered. I think many conservatives finally heard Mitt for the great guy he is. Even though he probably didn't stand a chance at this point I guess I was holding out hope so I was sad and agreed with the audience when they yelled out "No!" I'm not happy about our other two nominees but maybe Mitt will be the Vice Presidental nominee with McCain and then I would be happy again.

Monday Madness

Mondays are always crazy and I always have so much to do. Can you believe another snow storm this morning? I am so grateful for the snow, but we are just taking a beating at work with all the storms that have come through and we need a break.

I went to work this morning and collected my stuff to bring home and work. After leaving to pick S up from early out Kindgergarten I realized I had one more thing to do so I had to head back in, bummer. This cut into my grocery shopping time so extra bummer. It's early out for the kids this entire week for parent teacher conferences and I wanted to shop before I picked Z up from school so I only had to deal with 2 kids at the store. I spent a lot of time last night making my grocery list and planning my meals for the week. My shopping took so much longer because I had my WW points slider so I could figure out points for everything, again not fun with the two girls. I didn't get to finish, I needed to get more fresh fruits and veggies but I had to pick Z up from school. I'm hoping tonight R will be home from work early enough so I can run down the street.

We had a nice family night last night. R didn't make it home from work in time so the kids and I had it. In Primary Z had learned about Lehi's dream and had some handouts so he gave the lesson and retold the story. It was so cute to watch him. The past few weeks we haven't had family night but we've been doing good now for a couple of months. I told S I would help her with a lesson next week.

I'm making a new recipe for dinner and since it's like chicken nuggets I hope my kids like them.

Sunday Stuff

I took advantage of our late church today and slept in until 7:00am with A. She generally doesn't sleep much past 7:00am. I cuddled with her while I tried to finish a book. I'm towards the end of the book where they mystery is getting sloved but I can't sit down long enough to finish it up. Hopefull before bed tonight.
I took some chicken out of the freeze now I am trying to figure out what to make for dinner in the crockpot so it will be ready when we get home from church.
I need to plan family night for tonight and Z and I need to work on some Cub Scout stuff. My goal is to work on Cub Scout stuff every Sunday so we can get Z going on his badges. I'm also working on laundry, not just washing it but folding it and putting it away. I wish everyday this week could be Sunday so I wouldn't have to rush around and get us all ready to be somewhere, I like my nice leasurily pace this morning.
