Soccer

This season we signed Z up for a more competetive soccer league hoping he would learn the positions and fundimentals. I haven't been impressed with the league's organization but I have enjoyed watching the team improve. Throughout the summer they had league training and the indiviual coaches set up team practices as well along with a game or two a week. Some weeks we have 3 days of soccer and some we have 4. Z has liked playing keeper (or goalie) and generally stays there the entire game. He does pretty good and doesn't let it get to him when balls sneak past him. We have a few more weeks of games and then the season ends until Spring.

My cutie

When mom was here last week she put piggies in A's hair, so cute. Of course they didn't last all day, it's a little harder for them to stay in since I cut her hair. I wanted Mom to french braid her hair but of course A wouldn't sit still that long and I'm not sure if she has enough hair yet.
A loved having Grandma Ruby visit. Everytime she sees my mom at our house she thinks Grandma is going to babysit while I go to work. Many times when my mom comes I do work extra to catch up and leave A home with her. This past visit I worked less and we did some fun stuff also so A was happy having Grandma near by and called her MaMa.

Fabulous Friday

Yay, it's Friday! It's been long day and I'm tired because I waited until the last minute to do payroll for work so I was up early to get it finished. I am such a procrastinator and every payday I vow to do better and every payday I'm up till midnight or up at 3:00am to get it finished. When will I learn?
When I left work this morning I drove up to Layton to Rod Works. A friend told me about this store and I've been looking for a few more fall decorations for my house. I'm also looking for a cute fruit basket and then of course I like to spend money on anything cute. The store was incredible and if the baby wasn't with me I could have spent more time. So many wonderful decorating ideas and things.
The kids are playing with friends this afternoon. I'm helping a family in our with with part of dinner so I need to get that put together. I also need to get stuff cleaned up. I put out fall decorations and had to take down my regular decorations so my living room is a bit of a mess. I also have school papers everywhere. Even though I have folders, baskets and tubs for the kids's school stuff I still set it on the island and make piles until it's such a mess. Again, when will I learn?
The kids have a Primary Pennies By the Inch activity in the morning. In the afternoon their cousins are coming down from Logan to spend the evening. Actually my sister and her husband are taking their 10 year old daughter to the Toby Keith concert and I am watching the other two kids. My kids are excited to play with Danni and tend Rocky who is 7 months old (I'm sure A won't think it's fun and she'll be plenty jealous).
I am hoping to clean up my house and catch up on laundry and spend time with my family.

Tuesday Things

We had a disappointment today. We were really hoping to change something today and it didn't happen. We've had a great support system with family and friends who were all wonderful. After my mom and Marlene left today I just wanted to break down but I don't want to be dragged down so I fought it. I do think I need a good cry and then I can move on and not dwell on it.

My MIL came up Sunday for a visit and to offer some support. She is driving my mom back to St George with her. My mom was here since last Monday and it was so great to have her for a visit. I really wish she lived closer. I'll need to make an effort to go visit her because the next time she will come up here will be in January.

Saturday we did hit the Japanese Festival but we weren't hungry so we just looked around for a minute and then walked over to the Gateway Mall to the Clark Planetarium. We thought we would see what was playing and look around at the exhibits. We decided to see a cute 3-D movie called Fly Me To The Moon about 3 flys that join Apollo 11 on their moon visit. Then Mom, R and the kids rode the train to Farmington and I met them at the train station and we took the new Legacy Highway home.

I need to work on homework with the kids.

Finally Friday

I'm so glad it's the weekend, we've had such a busy week. Monday, Mom came up from St Geroge for a visit. She drove up to Logan for a few days to visit Tiff and Allen and now she is back with us. I took today off work so we could hang out, we went shopping and out to lunch. It was early out for school so we couldn't stay out as long as I would have liked.

Tomorrow we are going to the Japanese Festival downtown. If we have time we may go to This Is The Place Heritage Park. Mom said she hadn't been there and I thought the kids would have fun. R also said his mom is coming up Sunday and we having a BBQ with his family. I'm not sure of the time and I have to teach at church so we have to go, maybe after.

School has kept us busy. It seems like the afternoon is gone by the time we finish homework and this kids don't have very much time to play. S is really enjoying homework, math and reading. I have to bug and bug Z to get his stuff done.

September 11th

S came home from school and told us why everyone was displaying their flags today. She learned that 2 bullies flew airplanes into two really tall buildings, as tall as mountains. Lots of people died; mom, brothers, sisters and dads so was a really sad day.

I thought it was great how the teacher taught 5 and 6 year olds about a tragic day in our history. I probably would have told her way to much and her teacher kept it simple and still helped her to understand.

Thursday Things

Since school has started we have been so busy. Of course there have been plenty of homework fights. So far it's more of a problem with Z than with S. Most mornings the kids ride their bikes to school. This is the first year I have let S ride her bike so she is loving it. Last year Z would ride his bike and S and I would walk. I've tried walking along with them but they get so far ahead of me that there is not point. A misses having them home and I miss them entertaining her. I don't miss them arguing but I miss the kids.

Z was in a soccer tournament last weekend. We lost every game but the team worked hard and there was some improvement by their final game Saturday. Z has been playing goalie and he seems to like it. He did inform me that he doesn't want to play soccer next year.

Tiffi's family is coming this weekend so my kids are excited. Allen is helping R finish the roof. It's almost done!! Two weeks ago Allen and Tiffi stayed an extra day so Allen could work on the roof. We appreicate his help, thanks Allen.

My mom is also coming for a visit next week for a week. She will stay with us and I will take her up to Logan to stay with Tiffi and her family. I always love when my mom visits. We don't generally do anything exciting but it's nice to visit and spend time with her and she generally helps me catch up on household stuff that I fall behind on. I also get in a few extra hours at work while she's here because she will stay with the kids.
