This past week on our Mormon Mommies Message Board someone asked about everyone's house cleaning routine. After responding that I don't have a routine I vowed to make one this week. I went back to some of my FlyLady notes and put the following together:
Basic Weekly Plan
Monday:
- Clean Kitchen (Wash & Put away dishes, Clean kitchen counter)
- Clean Bathroom (Scrub the tub, Sweep & Mop the floor, Scrub the toilet & sink)
- Water Plants
Tuesday
- Clean Kitchen (Wash & Put away dishes, Clean kitchen counter)
- Laundry
- Weekly Home Blessing (Toss old magazines and mail, Empty all the trash, Sweep and Mop the Kitchen, Living Room & Hallway, Clean mirrors and doors, Dust, Vacuum Bedrooms)
- Work on menus & grocery list for next week
Wednesday
- Clean Kitchen (Wash & Put away dishes, Clean kitchen counter)
- Zone Clean
- Clean out Refrigerator
- Wipe down Kitchen Appliances
Thursday
- Clean Kitchen (Wash & Put away dishes, Clean kitchen counter)
- Errand Day (Library, Post Office, Buy gifts & cards)
- Grocery Day
Friday
- Clean Kitchen (Wash & Put away dishes, Clean kitchen counter)
- Laundry
- Weekly Home Blessing (Toss old magazines and mail, Empty all the trash, Sweep and Mop the Kitchen, Living Room & Hallway, Clean mirrors and doors, Dust, Vacuum Bedrooms)
Saturday
- Clean Kitchen (Wash & Put away dishes, Clean kitchen counter)
- Laundry: Bed Lines & Towels
- Clean out car
Monthly:
Wash Rugs
Clean Walls & Baseboards
Clean Kitchen & Bathroom Cabinets
Clean Laundry Room
I am also working on a schedule for the kids since school will be starting in a few weeks. School starting makes me want to get organized especially since I know we will be super busy.
Also, I am setting up a Central Intelligence Notebook to be near the kitchen phone with Telephone Logs, Emergeny Phone Numbers, Weekly Planning Sheets, Household Sheets and Membership Directories.
